The three selected conferences are the 2010 International Content Creators' Conference (ICON), the Busan International Medical Tourism Convention (BIMTC) and the 2010 Busan International Advertising Festival (AD Stars).
Busan CVB will provide assistance to each conference of 50 million won per year. The money is earmarked for overseas marketing to attract foreign participants, promotion to invite influential figures in related organizations, and special consulting through advisory committees for the three conferences. Based on the outcomes of the first year, the city and Busan CVB will decide whether to continue the support in the following year.

The three selected conferences are related to some of Busan¡¯s strategic industries. The 2010 ICON got high marks in terms of differentiating strategies and growth potential, while BIMTC was favored for its practical connection with industries through business. The 2010 AD Stars was chosen because it was the only event of its kind in the nation.
The bureau plans to increase assistance for attracting and holding international conferences, and to promote new conferences so that they can grow to meet the international standards of the UIA(the Union of International Association¡¯s Statistics). It also is going to assist regionally specialized international conferences to be selected as ¡°MICE Star Brands¡¯¡¯ designated by the ministry of culture, sports & tourism and Korea Tourism Organization.

¡Ø MICE : Combined terms of Meeting, Incentive, Conventions and Exhibitions
¡Ø Regionally specialized international conferences: Incubating conference which is born in     Busan and will be held regularly
